Weekday School – October News 10/2014

September is over. Believe it or not, it was a pretty calm month. Everyone was getting into a routine and enjoying the cooler weather. We had many new families to welcome. Enrollment is up.

On September 15, CAWS had their annual Paths to Quality rating visit. The rater observed in the classrooms and looked at documentation of our paperwork for education and training of the staff. CAWS maintained our Level 4 rating. We are very proud of our accomplishment.

In October, the CAWS Board will be selling our “Super Tasty Homemade” Pies. The pies will be $10 for a 10 inch pie.  If you remember, these are great pies for family gatherings and for the Turkey dinner.  The pies will arrive in time for the Turkey Dinner and Thanksgiving holidays. So, support a great cause and get a delicious pie. A win-win situation. See any Board member or call our office to place your order. Don’t be shy. The pies won’t be around again until next year.

Also, Saturday, October 25, CAWS will be sponsoring our annual Craft Bazaar from 9:00 to 3:00. We have some new crafters this year. Come and see how creative people can be. We will be having a Bake Sale, so if you would like to donate a baked good to CAWS, we would appreciate it. All profits benefit the children in our program.  CAWS is still collecting Labels for Education (Campbell’s) and Box Tops for Education. The Box Tops need to be sent in before the end of October, so we can receive a check in December.

Thank you for all your support. On September 30, CAWS had a birthday. It turned 57 years old. To think about all the children who have walked through these door is “mind boggling”. CAWS has offered a tremendous service to the community and we are proud of our tradition.

Mark your calendar: Thursday, December 11 at 7pm will be our Christmas Gathering.

I hope you have a wonderful month.
Rhonda
