The Best Times to be Had on Crescent Avenue

Chili Cookoff

Every February, chili cooks from the church and around the city come and add some spice to the cold Indiana weather. Guests are given a ballot and a tray full of chili and then they vote on who should be the chili champion. There is also a silent auction with tons of fabulous prizes!

Turkey Dinner

In November around Thanksgiving time, Crescent Avenue United Methodist Church has a turkey dinner that is open to the community. This has been a tradition at the church since the 1930's and we still do it every year. Several hundred people come to this popular dinner and we're glad to help make their Thanksgiving a good one!

Block Party

In the summertime, we invite the neighborhood out for a party. With food, games, prizes, and booths it's a carnival of sorts. It's definitely a good time to be had for everyone.

Service in the Park

Lakeside Park is one of the nicest places to be outside on a summer day in Fort Wayne. And when it's so nice out, why not be outside?! Every summer we choose a day to have "Service in the Park." It's nice to praise God outdoors on occasion and Lakeside Park is a beautiful place to do it.

Music Sunday

On the last Sunday before summer vacation, the music department pulls out all the stops. This is a service that is made entirely of music from our talented church members. The choir, the handbells, the solos, the piano and organ.... everything comes together on this Sunday to showcase our member's musical gifts.
