Crescent Avenue Weekday School achieved accreditation by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) for the first time in June 1987. The goal of NAEYC is to improve the quality of care and education provided for young children and to recognize these high quality programs. Ours was the first childcare facility to be accredited in Fort Wayne and one of the first three in Indiana. It is the only professional and national accreditation for early childhood programs in existence. Our facility participates in the re-accreditation process every five years.

Our goal in achieving accreditation has been a part of our commitment to assure parents, and ourselves that we are providing a program of quality. NAEYC’s criteria for a high quality program addresses the following components: interactions between staff and children, curriculum, parent interaction, staff qualification and development, administration, staffing, physical environment, health and safety, nutrition and food service, and a annual evaluation or our program.
